Sabina and John just wanted to get married and celebrate with their friends. They share a beautiful home in Tiburon with a terraced garden watched over by a grand majestic oak tree. But in June of 2020 the bay area was restricted from having social gatherings of more than 15 people. John and Sabina found the solution; they would have 2 parties! With the help of Samar at Blissful Event Planning, the couple curated an intimate wedding ceremony with their close family for Saturday afternoon and then transformed the space and invited just friends for a cocktail party on Sunday evening.
For the ceremony we draped the oak tree with soft fabric waterfalling in the background and framed their ceremony space with large urns filled with pampas grasses, curly willow and quicksand roses. We also added pampas grasses, ruskus and orchids to the light poles on the deck to make them disappear a little.
With so few guests and table settings I was able to create custom menus, table numbers and a seating sign detailed with the soft delicate grasses and neutral tones Sabina loved so much. She was so pleased and it really tied the look together beautifully.
Sabina and John were able to have their wedding ceremony and reception during the socially restricted summer of 2020 because they persisted. They hired just a few professionals to cover the timeline, rentals, flowers, photography, music and food. Even in such a small gathering the joy and enthusiasm filled the intimate space and celebrated the love between this sweet couple.
